Irish Blessing

May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
May the rains fall soft upon your fields,
And, until we meet again,
May God hold you in the hollow of His hand.

To the Blessed Virgin

When my days on earth are closing,

When all a dream shall seem to be,

When the mists of death are gathering,

Then, Mary Mother! pray for me!

When my eyes are dim and sightless

With weak voice on Thee shall call;

Be near me then, I do beseech Thee,

My precious Mother,  my friend, my all!

When in my agony I am struggling,

May my last thoughts be all of Thee;

When my soul from earth is passing,

Then Virgin Mother, pray for me!

When my friends are ’round me weeping,

Loved one I never more can see;

Immaculate Mother, gentle Mary!

Comfort them and pray for me!
