Dear Brother Michigan Hibernians,
I have just returned home from Cincinnati a half hour ago, but before the chores of unpacking, etc. I would would like to confirm the conversations we had over the weekend.
We discussed the future of the relationship between the AOH and LAOH in Michigan and I assured each of you that I am committed to moving forward in Unity with the AOH. This decision was based on the assurance given me by each of you that mutual respect and equality will prevail between both our Organizations.
Maureen Shelton and I attended the LAOH Constitution Meeting on Wednesday, July 7th, and we were very vocal of our desire to work together in peace and harmony with our brother Hibernians, in spite of the majority of attendees not wishing to do so. I also made sure that during the discussion immediately prior to the actual voting on this issue during our Business Meeting, that the delegates were advised that the Committee Recommendation not to accept the new and approved Constitution was NOT UNANIMOUS. The majority voted that way, but in was in no way unanimous.
By copy of this e-mail, I am notifying my State Board of my commitment and am confident that they will support it also.
I look forward to a long and happy relationship.
Yours in Friendship, Unity and Christian Charity,
Julie Lewis, President
